Another great guest speaker – Onur Koc, who is going to deliver a session on Artificial Intelligence during the ‘DIGITALL’ project.
Here is how he presented himself:
“Magic of software took me and my family from Izmir (My home town by Aegean Sea) through a journey across 3 continents, 5 roles, 12 different houses. While studying Electric Electronic Engineering at University in Izmir, I started to work for a local saw company building solutions for small businesses.
After university, I moved to Istanbul, started to work for a system integrator as a consultant, and worked in many domestic and international projects in the MEA region.
I joined Microsoft in 2001, my first job was to build a consulting and support team in a newly established Saudi Arabia office. Then 2003, I moved to Microsoft HQ in Seattle, WA, USA and joined the engineering team. I worked as Jnr, Senior and Director Program Manager in core engineering groups of HPC, Azure and XBoxOne product groups.
I did my masters on Technology Leadership in University of Washington Foster School of Business. 6 years ago I returned to my home country as Microsoft Turkey CTO. In this role I work on 3 things: Bringing new technology investments to the country, creating innovative solution examples from Turkey using AI technologies and finding/developing a new generation of young technical talent.
I am also writing 2 books; “AI for a Better World” and “Secrets of Ai for Children” both published in Turkish.”
